NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week

Dave Chen, WPI (Fr. - Niantic, Conn.) 

Chen swept the breaststrokes as the WPI men's swimming & diving team went 3-0 versus host Wesleyan, No. 11 Tufts and No. 18 Williams Saturday. The junior clocked with a 26.45 in the 50, a 57.63 in the 100 and a 2:08.89 in the 200.



NEWMAC Men's Diver of the Week

Connor Pennington, Springfield (So. – Monson, Mass.)  

In a dual meet with Middlebury over the weekend, Pennington swept the diving events with two nationally-qualifying marks as he registered a 340.88 on the three meter board and a 310.80 on the one meter. 



NEWMAC Men's Relay of the Week

400 Free Relay, WPI (Miralda, Williams, Barrett and Bauer)

Senior Jean Philippe Miralda (Tegucigalpa, Honduras), freshman Sid Williams (Irvine, Calif.), graduate student Craig Barrett (Edinburgh, Scotland) and senior Jack Bauer (Cumberland, R.I.) was just over a second quicker (3:08.79-3:09.83) than No. 18 Williams in the 400-yard freestyle relay to secure the 151-150 triumph. The Engineers also bested No. 11 Tufts and host Wesleyan.



NEWMAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

Grace Moore, Springfield (Fr. - Glastonbury, Conn.) 

Going up against Middlebury over the weekend, Moore captured the win in the 50 back with a time of 28.44 en route to the first of her three individuals victories on the day. The rookie would also win the 100 back at 1:01.07 and 100 IM with a 1:02.47.



NEWMAC Women's Diver of the Week

Sierra Skaza, Springfield (Sr. - Belchertown, Mass.) 

Against Middlebury on Saturday, Skaza won both events with national-qualifying scores by registering a 269.40 on the one meter and a 283.05 on the three meter.


NEWMAC Men's Basketball Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week

Packy Witkowski, Coast Guard (Jr., G - Melrose, Mass.)

Witkowski had a huge week as he set the CGA single-game records with 40 points and 10 three-pointers in a 101-72 win over Conn. College on Thursday and followed that up with 21 points in a loss to Mitchell on Saturday. He averaged 30.5 points and 7 rebounds per game. He shot 59 percent from the field (23-29) and 52.2 percent from behind the arc (12-23).


NEWMAC Men's Basketball Co-Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week

Tim Roberts, MIT (Sr., F - Oak Bluffs, Mass.) 

In a 3-0 week for the No. 9 ranked Engineers, Roberts posted three straight double-doubles and averaged 17.3 points and 15 rebounds while shooting 77.8 percent from the field (21-for-27). In addition, he also posted 10 assists and shot 83.3 percent from the free throw line. In the team's win over Fitchburg State, Roberts posted 23 points and a career-high 18 rebounds to lead the way. Defensively, Roberts registered 29 defensive rebounds, four blocks and nine steals in the three victories.


NEWMAC Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week

Charlie Boyle, Emerson (Sr., F - Scotts Valley, Calif.) 

Charlie Boyle helped the Lions to a 2-1 record on the week, averaging 20 points per game. Against Smith on Saturday, Boyle set a career high with 36 points on 13-20 shooting from the field. On the week, Boyle shot 66.7% from the field and hit all 12 of the free throws she attempted. She averaged 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and one block per game to go along with her 20 points per game. 


NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week

Payton Ouimette, Babson (Sr., F - Medfield, Mass.) 

Ouimette posted one double-double and averaged 13.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in a 3-0 week for Babson. The senior forward finished with nine points and 10 boards in a 66-59 victory over Brandeis on Monday, and contributed 14 points, seven boards and three assists in Wednesday's 97-30 rout of Wheaton. On Saturday, Ouimette finished with 17 points, 15 rebounds and a season-high seven assists in a 65-54 win over Coast Guard.
