WELLESLEY, Mass. – Greg McKeever,
Assistant Director of the New England Women’s and Men’s
Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has been elevated to full-time status,
it was announced today by conference Executive Director, Patrick
Summers. McKeever, who has been with the NEWMAC for five years,
will begin in his full-time capacity on July 1, 2012.
“The NEWMAC is taking a very important step by elevating
Mr. McKeever's position to full time,” said Summers.
“The conference is showing its commitment to providing the
best experience to its student-athletes and membership. I'm looking
forward to having Greg in the office and utilizing his expertise
and experience to better the conference,” he continued.
McKeever joined the NEWMAC in 2007, as the conference’s
first-ever Publicist before being promoted to Assistant Director in
2010. In his role as Assistant Director, McKeever is responsible
for the public relations, promotion and marketing strategies of the
conference while also working closely with the conference’s
leadership groups including the NEWMAC Presidents’ Council,
Athletic Directors Group and other athletic administrators and
coaches. He serves as the primary media contact for the
NEWMAC’s 18 championships and manages the conference awards
program as well.
In addition to his role at the NEWMAC, McKeever has also worked
in the athletic communications office at league member, MIT, for
the past four years.
NEWMAC President and Mount Holyoke College Athletic Director,
Laurie Priest, had this to say about the announcement: “Greg
has done an excellent job for the NEWMAC over the past four years.
We are delighted to have his time and talents on a full-time basis
to serve the conference.”
