McKeever Elevated to Full-Time Assistant Director

McKeever Elevated to Full-Time Assistant Director

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Greg McKeever, Assistant Director of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has been elevated to full-time status, it was announced today by conference Executive Director, Patrick Summers. McKeever, who has been with the NEWMAC for five years, will begin in his full-time capacity on July 1, 2012.

“The NEWMAC is taking a very important step by elevating Mr. McKeever's position to full time,” said Summers. “The conference is showing its commitment to providing the best experience to its student-athletes and membership. I'm looking forward to having Greg in the office and utilizing his expertise and experience to better the conference,” he continued.

McKeever joined the NEWMAC in 2007, as the conference’s first-ever Publicist before being promoted to Assistant Director in 2010. In his role as Assistant Director, McKeever is responsible for the public relations, promotion and marketing strategies of the conference while also working closely with the conference’s leadership groups including the NEWMAC Presidents’ Council, Athletic Directors Group and other athletic administrators and coaches. He serves as the primary media contact for the NEWMAC’s 18 championships and manages the conference awards program as well.

In addition to his role at the NEWMAC, McKeever has also worked in the athletic communications office at league member, MIT, for the past four years.

NEWMAC President and Mount Holyoke College Athletic Director, Laurie Priest, had this to say about the announcement: “Greg has done an excellent job for the NEWMAC over the past four years. We are delighted to have his time and talents on a full-time basis to serve the conference.”
