Jul 31, 2008 Amy Lampe Named Babson's Assistant SID and Game Management Coordinator BABSON PARK, Mass. - The Babson College
Athletics Department has officially named Amy Lampe as its new
Assistant Sports Information Director and Coordinator of Game
Management. This two-year position was made possible through the
NCAA's Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant
Program.
A 2008 graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, Lampe
received her bachelor's degree in Sport & Leisure Management
with minors in Coaching and Communications. A four-year member and
two-year captain of the Warriors' field hockey team, Lampe was a
two-time Scholar-Athlete Award winner at ECSU. She also received
the Morrell Service Award for service as a student-worker in the
Athletics Department, where she served as one of the top student
assistants for Sports Information Director Bob Molta.
In her new role at Babson, Lampe will oversee home contest
management while also assisting in all aspects of the Sports
Information Office.
"We are very excited to have Amy on board for the next two
years," said Chris Buck, who is entering his 10th year as Babson's
Sports Information Director. "She had an incredible amount of
statistical and game management experience as an undergraduate,
which I believe makes her the ideal choice for this position. I'm
confident that her presence will enable us to do a great deal more
for our athletic programs and for our very deserving
student-athletes."
"I feel very privileged to be given this outstanding opportunity
and I am looking forward to the next two years," Lampe said. "I
have had a tremendous amount of support from everyone at Babson and
I am excited to become part of the Babson community."
