Baseball Drops Season Opener to Rockford
Box Score/Results Port Charlotte, Fla. 03/01/08 - The Clark University baseball team opened their annual spring trip with a 16-8 loss to Rockford College (Ill)
For Clark, Miles Whitlock (Augusta, ME) took the loss going two and one third innings, giving up thirteen runs on four hits, along with ten walks.
Junior Chris Brockman (Freedom, WI) led the Regents offensive attack with three hits in five chances, including an inside the park grand-slam and four RBIs. Senior Bobby Findlay (Wilmington, Ill) earned the win in Rockford's season opener, going five and one third innings, giving up five earned runs and striking out six.
Offensively for Clark, freshman Scott Hollingsworth (Tilton, NH) shined in his first collegiate game with a 2-for-5 performance, adding two RBI. Kevin Kopec (Katonah, NY), also a freshman, chipped in with his first collegiate hit, sparking a four run third inning.
Rockford (1-0) will face off against Gettysburg College (PA), in a double-header tomorrow at 12pm. Clark (0-1) will return to the field tomorrow at noon, to take on Misericordia (1-1), tomorrow in a double-header.
