NEWMAC Announces 2008 Baseball Post-Season Award Winners

Babson Park, Mass. - The New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2008 Baseball Post-season awards on Tuesday. Scott NcNee (Falmouth, Mass.) of WPI was named the Player of the Year, while Adam Gingras (Woonsocket, R.I.) of Wheaton was named Pitcher of the Year. Andrew Aizenstadt (Norwell, Mass.) of Babson took home the Rookie of the Year award. Wheaton head coach Eric Podbelski was named the Coach of the Year and Springfield earned the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award.

McNee, Gingras and Aizenstadt all earned a spot on the First team All-Conference. They were joined by Matt Delaney (Newton, Mass.) and Steve Tahmoush (Arlington, Mass.) of Babson, Stewart Park (Brooklyn, N.Y.) from MIT, Jimmy Lisowski (Warwick, Mass.) from Springfield and Robert Foote (Walpole, Mass.) and Chris McDonough (Weymouth, Mass.) of Wheaton.

The Second team All-Conference was made up of Dave Ahern (Bedford, Mass.) of Babson, Joe Silva (Westbury, N.Y.) of Clark, Ken Franklin (Orchard Park, N.Y.) from Coast Guard, Jay Turner (Holliston, Mass.) and Kevin Wheeler (Tucson, Ariz.) of MIT, Rex Cone (Bristol, Conn.) and Casey Federico (Agawam, Mass.) of Springfield, Conor Fahey (Cumberland, R.I.) from WPI and Jeff Lieneck (Foxboro, Mass.) and Paul Malaguti (Andover, Mass.) from Wheaton.
