WPI Senior Thomas Whiting Named NEWMAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Whiting was outstanding on WPI’s recent spring trip to Florida, saving three of the Engineers’ six victories to open the 2010 season while registering an ERA of 1.93.

Clark Sophomore Mitchell DeLorenzo Named NEWMAC Baseball Player of the Week
In seven games during Spring Break, Mitch DeLorenzo hit a robust .538 with a homerun and ten RBI, while slugging .808. He had an on-base percentage of .581, while handling all 48 of his opportunities in the field without an error.

Pair of Experienced Coaches Join Wheaton Baseball Program as Assistants
Tom McMahon and Pete Pasquarosa, who each have prior coaching experience at the college level, join the Wheaton College baseball team as assistants for their first season this spring. Both worked with the squad during its non-traditional fall campaign.

MIT's Thomas Phillips Earns Academic All-America Honors
Thomas Phillips added another award to his growing resume after being voted to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Baseball Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) earlier this week.

Six NEWMAC Student-Athletes Earn NEIBA All-Region Accolades
Six NEWMAC student-athletes have been named to the NEIBA 2009 All-New England Division III team as announced last week. Wheaton led the way with three Second Team selections while Babson, MIT and WPI each had one player honored.
