The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference

Babson Park, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2007 Field Hockey Post-season awards on Tuesday. NEWMAC Tournament champion Springfield College led the way with a total of five All-Conference selections, including Junior Jane Kelleher (Chatham, Mass.), the NEWMAC Player of the Year. Wellesley College First Year Katie Frett (Hallowell, Maine) was named NEMWAC Rookie of the Year, while her coach, Rebecca Vaill, was named NEWMAC Coach of the Year. WPI received the conference's annual Sportsmanship Award.

Joining Kelleher on the First Team All-Conference are teammates Emma Kaplan and Brittany Veazie, Michele Farley and Brittany Stevens from NEWMAC Regular Season champion Babson, Katie Boothe of MIT, Wellesley's Callie Lekas and Katie Sang, Wheaton's Kim Anson and Sara Dimick and Maggie Elbag of WPI.

Frett was named to the Second Team All-Conference along with teammate Emily Hewitt, Babson's Sarah Fredlund and Jessica Paladino, Clark's Lauren Blake and Carley Corkum, Mount Holyoke's Anne Doton and Jamie Macari, Springfield's Eileen Jenkins and Jill Urtz, and Alisa Ardito of Wheaton.
