Springfield Junior Jill Urtz Named NEWMAC Field Hockey Player of the Week

NEWMAC Field Hockey Player of the Week:

Jill Urtz, Springfield, B, JR (Verona, NY)

Jill Urtz anchored the Pride's defense throughout the NEWMAC Tournament as the Pride won its fourth-consecutive league title. The Pride, who allowed just one goal in three tournament games, was paced by the outstanding play of Urtz and the team's left back. Urtz was able to shut down some of the league's most potent offensive players as well as limiting opponents shots with her work defensivley on penatly corners. In the championship game, the Pride posted its 10th shutout of the year.
