WPI Senior Antoine Coleman, MIT Junior Jimmy Bartolotta Earn NABC Accolades

Babson Park, Mass.-The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced today that WPI senior Antoine Coleman (Everett, Mass.) was named to the 2008 State Farm Division III All-America Third Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). MIT junior Jimmy Bartolotta (Littleton, Colo.) was also honored by the NABC; he was named to the All-Northeast District Second team.

This marks the second straight year that a member of WPI head coach Chris Bartley's squad has been honored by the NABC.  In 2007, Ryan Cain (Webster, MA) also was selected to the third team.

Coleman, the NEWMAC Player of the Year, led the Engineers in scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.0 rpg).  The senior forward has his best offensive season while also adding 40 steals, 38 assists and 14 blocks.  Coleman was a two-time first-team All-NEWMAC selection and just this past week earned his second straight Third team d3hoops.com All-Northeast Region honor.

Bartolotta becomes just the second player in the MIT program history to be honored by the NABC, following Dave Tomlinson's second-team selection in 1991. Bartolotta, who led the NEWMAC in scoring at 23.9 points per game, was recently named to the d3hoops.com First team All-Northeast Region and was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America First team earlier this year.
