NEWMAC Reveals 2017-18 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll

WESTWOOD, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) revealed the annual Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll on Thursday morning. After an impressive 2016-17 season claiming the NEWMAC crown and advancing to the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, MIT has been tabbed as the preseason favorites with six first place votes.

Close behind in the ranks is the 2016-17 NCAA Men's Basketball National Champions, No. 2 Babson who received two first place votes. No. 3 Springfield, No. 4 WPI follows as they made NEWMAC tournament appearances last season. Coast Guard and Emerson tied at No. 5 while Clark and Wheaton tied for the No. 7 spot.

The 2017-18 season should be an exciting one as the NEWMAC returns four All-Conference honorees, two All-Region award winners, the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year, Springfield's Jake Ross, and the NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year, MIT's AJ Jurko.
