Chris Rodgers, WPI (Sr, Franklin, Mass.)
Rodgers paced the Engineers with an average of 18.5 points and eight rebounds, as well as 11 assists and four steals in a 2-0 week. He also clicked for 83.3 percent (10-of-12) free throw shooting at Wheaton. The senior also posted 19 points and seven rebounds versus the Lyons. He then logged game-highs of 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists at Coast Guard.
NEWMAC Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week
Jake Ross, Springfield (So, Northampton, Mass.)
Ross averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game as Springfield went 2-0 on the week, winning a pair of conference games by an average of 29 points. The sophomore pushed his season total of double doubles to 10, which ranks fourth best in all of Division III. Ross played just 25 minutes in a win over Clark and produced 15 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals before turning in 18 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals in a win on the road at Emerson.
