Ryan Fogarty, Wheaton (Sr, Walpole, Mass.)
Despite dropping one game this week, by a single point, Fogarty ended the week with zero turnovers in his 76 minutes of play, while averaging 25.5 points per game, seven boards and four assists while shooting 64.3% from the field and 46.2% from beyond the arc. Fogarty recorded a career-high 31 points in the Lyons' 89-77 win over previously undefeated in conference play, Babson. Despite a 79-78 Wheaton loss to Emerson, the senior was productive, totaling 20 points in addition to 8 rebounds and 5 assists
NEWMAC Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week
Jake Ross, Springfield (So, Northampton, Mass.)
Ross helped Springfield to a pair of NEWMAC wins last week as the Pride pushed its winning streak to five games. The sophomore guard averaged 30 points and 12 rebounds per game to go along with four assists, two steals, a block and shot 84% from the charity stripe (21-25) to compile two double-double performances. Ross opened the week with 26 points, 11 boards, two steals, and two assists as the Pride snapped 9th-ranked MIT's 11-game winning streak with a 68-65 win. On Saturday, Ross erupted for 34 points and 13 boards and blocked a critical three-point bid in the final seconds to lift the Pride to a 79-74 win at Coast Guard.
