AJ Jurko, MIT (Jr, Weston, Fla.)
In a pair of games, Jurko averaged 26.5 points, 7.5 assists and six rebounds while shooting 58.8 percent from the field, 63.6 percent from three (7 for 11) and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. In a home win over Wheaton on Saturday, Jurko nearly posted a triple-double as he finished with a season-high 29 points to go along with 11 assists and eight rebounds.
NEWMAC Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week
Jake Ross, Springfield (So, Northampton, Mass.)
The sophomore averaged 18.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game while shooting 48.4% (15-for-31) from the field. Ross opened the week with the first triple double of his career, going for 22 points, 12 boards, and 10 assists to go along with five steals in just 28 minutes of action in a 26-point win over Coast Guard. On Saturday, Ross paced the way with 15 points and 14 rebounds as one of five Springfield players to score in double figures in their 29-point win over Emerson.
