WPI Senior Jim Marois Named NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week:

Jim Marois, WPI, F, SR (Worcester, Mass.)

Marois was WPI's top scorer and rebounder last week as the four-time defending NEWMAC regular season champions won its first two league contests of 2008. He keyed a late 14-2 run with a trio of 3-pointers to help WPI knock off previously undefeated Coast Guard 71-62. Marois paced all scorers with a career-best 26 points and seven rebounds. Later in the week, he tallied 14 points and grabbed five rebounds in a hard-fought 81-71 road win at Springfield. Over the two games, Marois averaged 20 points and six rebounds while adding four assists and connecting on 9-of-16 3-point attempts.
