Springfield Junior John Strawson Named NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week:

John Strawson, Springfield College, C, JR (Torrington, Conn.)

John Strawson lifted the Springfield College men's basketball team to a pair of conference wins over the week. For the week, Strawson averaged 15 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 61% from the floor (11-of-18). Strawson helped lead his team against Coast Guard as Springfield won, 57-55. Strawson, who hit the game-winning three-point play with 12.4 seconds left, netted 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting. He added eight rebounds, a block, and a steal, while shooting 5-of-7 from the foul line. In the Pride's 61-53 win over Babson on Saturday, Strawson tallied nine points and five rebounds to go along with two steals and an assist, going 3-of-6 from the field.
