USCGA Senior Al Sowers Named NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week:

Al Sowers, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, G, SR (Monrovia, Md.)

Al had a huge week as the Bears won three games to improve to 8-0 for the first time in 15 years. Sowers averaged 20.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, two assists and two steals. The senior point guard shot 61 percent from three-point range (14-23) and 56 percent from the field (19-34). He had 26 points each in wins over Becker and Merchant Marine and he hit the game winning three-pointer with 35 seconds left in a 74-72 win over Wentworth.
