Springfield Sophomore Ryan Blackmon Named NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

NEWMAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week:

Ryan Blackmon, Springfield, G, SO (Stamford, Conn.)

Blackmon paced the Pride with a 14 points per game average as Springfield went 1-1 on the week. On Friday evening, Blackmon was instrumental in the Pride's 79-77 upset of No. 25 Rhode Island College. The sophomore guard went 7-14 from the field, including 3-5 from behind the arc en route to a game-high 21 points. He also added four rebounds and a pair of assists in the win. The Stamford, Conn. native also chipped in with seven points and five rebounds in the Pride's loss to Connecticut College during the week.
