Nov 7, 2006 NEWMAC Announces 2006 Men's Soccer All-Conference Awards SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-- Babson sophomore forward Tim
Winn (Sutton, Mass.) was named on Tuesday as the 2006
NEWMAC Men's Soccer Player of the Year after guiding the Beavers to
the conference championship match last weekend. His coach,
Jon Anderson, was named by his peers as the 2006
NEWMAC Coach of the Year, while Springfield freshman Adrian
Schippers(Ashby, Mass.) was tabbed as the conference's
Rookie of the Year. Coast Guard received the inaugural
NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award.
Winn collected 15 goals and nine assists for 39 points during
his second campaign at Babson, as he led the NEWMAC in all three of
those categories. Anderson was honored as the league's Coach
of the Year for the second time in three seasons, while Schippers
netted seven goals and four assists for 18 points in leading the
Pride to the conference semi-final round.
Joining Winn on the first-team all-NEWMAC squad are teammates
Chris Necklas, Gregg Robinson and Chris
Schwartz, Clark's Lino Goncalves, Coast
Guard's Casey Steuer, M.I.T.'s Ryan
Scheffler as well as Cameron Habib, Dan Lane, Matt
Pachniuk and Ariel Tatum from league
regular season and tournament champion Wheaton.
