Five NEWMAC Student-Athletes Receive NSCAA/adidas All-Region Honors

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2008 Men's All-New England team and five New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) student-athletes earned regional accolades. Babson senior and three-time NEWMAC Player of the Year Tim Winn (Sutton, Mass.), the conference's only First Team All-New England selection, was also named First Team All-America by the NSCAA.

Winn's teammate Brendan McNamara (Exeter, N.H.) garnered Third Team All-Region recognition. Clark goalkeeper Peter Wise (Providence, R.I.) and Coast Guard senior David O'Brien (Seminole, Fla.) were placed on the Second Team. Springfield's John Plourd (Southampton, Mass.) rounded out the conference selections with Fourth Team honors. All five student-athletes were First Team All-Conference recipients as well.

Winn concludes his impressive career at Babson with four NEWMAC All-Conference, three All-Region and two All-America selections in addition to his three conference Player of the Year awards. He is the 17th All-American in Babson history but just the fifth to secure First Team plaudits.

The NSCAA/adidas All-America teams are determined through voting by member coaches. The honorees will be invited to the NSCAA All-America luncheon, held on Saturday, January 17, as part of the 62nd annual NSCAA convention in Saint Louis.
