Christian Therkelsen Earns Men's Soccer Academic All-America Accolades
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second year in a row Christian
Therkelsen represented MIT on the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic
All-America Men's Soccer First Team. The junior forward received
the program's 12th award and extended the Engineers' run
of five consecutive years with at least one honoree. MIT's
institutional tally now stands at 157, maintaining its position as
the leader among Division III programs.
Therkelsen is a three-time New England Women's and Men's
Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference selection and second
straight First-Team pick. He ranked second in the NEWMAC in assists
per game, third in assists and points per game, fourth in points,
sixth in goals per game, and tied for sixth in goals. Therkelsen
finished the season as MIT's team leader in assists (nine) and was
second in goals (nine) and points (27).
