NEWMAC Places Five on NSCAA/adidas All-Region Team

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2009 Men's All-New England team and, for the second straight year, five New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) student-athletes earned regional honors. In addition, the NEWMAC had a representative on the NSCAA All-America team for the sixth time in the last seven years, as the NEWMAC Athlete of the Year, Yuri Moreira (Marlboro, Mass.) of Wheaton College, was named to the Second Team All-America.

Moreira was joined on the First Team All-Region by teammate David Ferriero (Medway, Mass.), as well as Babson senior Dan Fogarty (Brookline, N.H.) and Eric Anderson (Scituate, Mass.). Babson's Chris Morris (Shoreline, Wash.) was a Second Team All-New England selection.

The NSCAA/adidas All-America teams are determined through voting by member coaches. The honorees will be invited to the NSCAA All-America luncheon, held on Saturday, January 16, as part of the 63rd annual NSCAA convention in Philadelphia.
