2012 NEWMAC Men’s Soccer Seeds Announced
BABSON PARK, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released the 2012 men's soccer tournament seeds and pairings on Saturday afternoon. After finishing unbeaten in league play for the fifth straight season, Babson College (5-0-1) earned the top seed in the tournament and will host the semifinal and final rounds next weekend.
Coast Guard Academy (4-1-1) secured the second seed in the tournament and a bye into the semifinals. Third-seeded Springfield College (3-2-1) will also receive a first round bye. Wheaton College (2-2-2) finished as the fourth seed and will host No. 5 MIT (2-3-1) in an opening round game on Wednesday.
The host Beavers will face the winner of the Wheaton/MIT match-up in the first semifinal on Saturday, November 3. Coast Guard and Springfield will follow at 1:30 p.m. The championship game will be held on Sunday, with a berth in the 2012 NCAA Division III tournament on the line.
