Wheaton First Year Cole Davidson Named NEWMAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

NEWMAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week:

Cole Davidson, Wheaton, GK, FY (Needham, MA)

Davidson was a key cog in both of the regionally-ranked Lyons' shutouts over the weekend, helping Wheaton capture its seventh NEWMAC Tournament title in 10 seasons. During the top-seeded Lyons' 2-0 victory over number four Clark on Saturday, Davidson posted a pair of second-half saves in keeping the Cougars off the board.  He also came up big in Sunday's 4-0 championship-game win over number two Babson, turning aside all four of Babson's first-half shots and five overall.  Against NEWMAC teams this fall, Davidson has a 5-1-1 record with a 0.69 goals against average, .853 save percentage and three shutouts.
