Clark Sophomore Ryan Garr Named NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week

NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week:

Ryan Garr, Clark University, 2012 (Kingston, R.I.)

Garr was named Men's Swimmer of the Meet at the Worcester City Championship held at Holy Cross over the weekend. He won the 100 backstroke (53.28), 50 Free (22.62) and 200 backstroke (1:54.77), setting meet records in the 100 (53.28) and 200 backstroke (1:54.77). He also broke the 23-year old Hart Center Pool record in the 200 backstroke, shattering the previous mark set in 1987 of 1:56.69. In addition to those victories, he teamed up to grab first place in the 200-yard medley relay (1:43.63). Earlier in the week, in a dual meet loss to Brandeis, Garr picked up his wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.15) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:56.48).
