BOSTON, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the seeds for next week's men's tennis tournament on Saturday afternoon, following the conclusion of the regular season. MIT (6-0) earned the league's regular season crown for the 16th consecutive season and will host the semifinals and championship matches next weekend.
Babson College (5-1), which was handed its only conference loss at the hands of MIT in the regular season finale, will be the No. 2 seed and receive a bye to the tournament semifinals. The Beavers will face third-seeded Clark University (3-3) in the second semifinal on Saturday, April 26.
Wheaton College earned the No. 4 seed with its 3-3 mark in league play. The Lyons will open up the championship at home in a quarterfinal match against No. 5 Coast Guard Academy (3-3) on Wednesday. The winner of that match will move on to play top-seeded MIT in the semifinals.
Semifinal start times will be 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. with the winners advancing to Sunday's championship match at 1:00 p.m.
