NEWMAC Softball Player of the Week

King hit .478 (11-for-23) with three doubles, four homer, eight runs scored, and 17 RBI in helping the Beavers win seven straight and surge to a second-place finish in the NEWMAC regular season standings. After going 0-for-3 in game one against Brandeis on Tuesday - Babson's only loss of the week - the sophomore slugger hit safely in the team's remaining seven games. She went 2-for-3 with a homer in a 4-3 win over Brandeis, 2-for-3 with a double and six RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Lesley on Thursday, and 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored and three RBI in a sweep of MIT on Friday. King finished the week with a monster day against Coast Guard on Saturday, going 1-for-4 with an RBI in game one and 3-for-4 with two homers, three runs, and five RBI in game two as Babson swept the Bears and clinched the second seed in this week's NEWMAC Tournament. King now leads the team with a .426 average to go with seven homers and 40 RBI this season.
