NEWMAC Softball Athlete of the Week
Kirsten Drobiak, Springfield (Junior, Griswold, Conn.)
Kirsten Drobiak, a junior infielder for Springfield College, had a standout week for the Pride, which went 4-2 against NEWMAC opponents. The Griswold, Conn. native went 7-for-14 (.500 avg.) on the week, with four doubles, two home runs and seven RBI. Drobiak also scored five runs, while holding an on-base percentage of .619 and slugging 1.133. In the field, Drobiak had an errorless week, finishing with a fielding percentage of 1.000.
NEWMAC Softball Co-Pitcher of the Week
Danielle Cimino, Wheaton (Senior, Cumberland, Maine)
Danielle Cimino went 3-0 last week boasting a 1.05 ERA, allowing just three earned runs in 20 innings while hurling 18 strikeouts. The senior earned her sixth straight win for the Lyons on Sunday where she only gave up one hit and struck out four in Wheaton's 3-0 shut out of UMass-Dartmouth. She currently holds a 2.48 ERA and had been the driving force behind Wheaton's seven-game win streak.

Talia Loda, Springfield (Junior, East Haven, Conn.)
Talia Loda, a junior pitcher for Springfield College, had and impressive week for the Pride, as she led the maroon and white to a record of 4-2 against NEWMAC opponents. Loda went 3-1, pitching 26.0 innings, giving up just three earned runs while owning an ERA of 0.81. Loda also fanned 20 batters, including nine in a 9-1 win over No. 19 MIT. At the plate, Loda went 10-for-23 (.435) in the lead off spot, driving in three runs and scoring four herself.
