The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference

Babson Park, Mass.-The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced today that three of its volleyball programs, MIT, Mount Holyoke and WPI, received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The award honors teams that maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale, or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.

The three NEWMAC programs were among a record-high 62 Division III women's teams to qualify this year. The MIT men's team also received the award, as they joined Vassar College as the only institutions to have both its men's and women's teams honored.
