NEWMAC Women’s Volleyball Student-Athletes Receive Regional and National Honors

BABSON PARK, Mass. - A number of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball student-athletes have received accolades on the regional and national levels in the past week. The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its All-Region and All-America teams while the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) handed out All-New England awards. 

NEWMAC Player of the Year Alice Cummings (Tallahassee, Fla.) was one of four Honorable Mention All-America honorees from the conference. She was joined by Barden Cleeland (Irvine, Calif.) and Alex May (Des Moines, Iowa) of MIT and Springfield junior Heather Lively (Royalston, Mass.). Those same four were also named to the AVCA All-New England First Team and were recognized by NEWVA. Lively and May received First Team nods from NEWVA while Cummings and Cleeland were tabbed to the Second Team. In addition, Springfield's Sarah Lang-Rodean (Mansfield Center, Conn.) was an Honoroable Mentiona All-Region pick by the AVCA.
