Three NEWMAC Student-Athletes Named to CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team

BABSON PARK, Mass. - Three student-athletes from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) were selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District squad for women's volleyball. Seniors Alex May (Des Moines, Iowa) from MIT, Lauren Kraus (Westboro, Mass.) of Wheaton and WPI's Becca Holmberg (Madison, Conn.) were honored, as the NEWMAC accounted for half of the District One First Team nods.

All three student-athletes are repeat All-District honorees. May and Holmberg garnered First Team selections last year while Kraus was a Third Team pick in 2007.

As First Team honorees, May, Kraus and Holmberg will now be placed on the ballot for the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Team to be voted on and announced later this month.

District I consists of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Quebec.
