MIT Senior Amanda Morris Named NEWMAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

Amanda Morris, MIT, SR, (North Potomac, MD)

In a 5-0 week, Amanda Morris helped lead regionally-ranked No. 1 MIT to the Hall of Fame Tournament Title and she collected Tournament MVP honors. In Tuesday's 30-28, 30-25, 30-23 decision over No. 4 Wellesley, she tallied 41 assists, five digs, two blocks, two kills, and an ace. Morris registered 12 assists, three blocks, two kills, and two digs in two games versus Mount Holyoke (30-17, 30-16, 30-18) on Friday. Later that night, she collected 34 assists, six digs, two kills and an ace against Bowdoin (30-18, 30-17, 30-18). In Saturday's semifinal versus No. 7 Tufts (30-28, 30-27, 30-26), Morris posted 39 assists, 13 digs, four kills, three blocks, and an ace. She capped off the weekend with 34 assists, 11 digs, six kills, and two blocks against No. 2 Williams (30-26, 30-25, 30-28) in the championship match. For the week, Morris averaged 11.43 assists, 2.64 digs, 1.14 kills, 0.71 blocks, and 0.21 aces per game as MIT registered a team hitting percentage of .223.
