Babson Park, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic
Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2007-08 Women's Basketball
Post-season awards on Tuesday. Coast Guard senior Natalie
Moyer (Oklahoma City, Ok.) was named NEWMAC Player of the
year. Rachelle Walker (Lee, Mass.) of Springfield
was named NEWMAC Rookie of the Year. Melissa
Hodgdon, coach of the NEWMAC tournament champions,
Wheaton, was named NEWMAC Coach of the Year. MIT won the league's
sportsmanship award.
Joining Moyer on the All-Conference first team was teammate
Melissa Martinelli (Vero Beach, Fla.). Clark
junior Sarah Roderigue (Oakland, Maine), Wheaton
junior Krystin Hickey (Manchester, N.H.) and WPI
sophomore Kaileen Selen (Worcester, Mass.) rounded
out the first team.
The All-Conference second team consisted of Babson senior
Linsey Poulson (Leominster, Mass.), MIT senior
Kimberly Soo Hoo (Benicia, Calif.), Springfield
senior Tara McCarthy (Bristol, R.I.), Wellesley
junior Jessica Duff (Milton, Abingdon, UK) and
Wheaton senior Becky Aitchison (Norwalk, Conn.).
