Wheaton's Bailey to Appear on Hoopsville Radio Show
NORTON, MA- Wheaton College women's basketball senior Andrea
Bailey (Needham, MA/Needham) is slated to be interviewed live
during Sunday night's broadcast of Hoopsville, D3hoops.com's
bi-weekly radio show. Bailey is set to appear some time
between 7:45 and 8:15 p.m. The broadcast, which runs from 7:00 to
9:00 p.m., can be found at http://d3hoops.com/hoopsville/. Wheaton last
had an athlete featured on the program in early 2008, when men's
basketball player Brent DiGiovanna '08 provided his Super Bowl
prediction.
Among other things, Bailey will discuss knocking down a 40-foot
buzzer beater in her 100th career game on January 9 to give Wheaton
a shocking 64-63 overtime victory against New England Women's and
Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Worcester Polytechnic
Institute (WPI).
The point guard, who averages 8.2 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds
and 1.7 steals, has been instrumental in Wheaton's turnaround from
a 1-4 start, as the Lyons are now 10-5 overall, riding an
eight-game winning streak, their longest in 14 years. At 7-1
in the NEWMAC, the Blue and White is in second place. With 428
career assists, Bailey also needs only two to tie Sharon
Morrisseau's '89 21-year-old program record.
Now in its seventh season on the air, Hoopsville is the only radio
show dedicated to NCAA Division III basketball. Host and founder
Dave McHugh is joined by regional reporters along with coaches and
players from around the county to talk about what is going on in
Division III men's and women's basketball. The live two-hour show
begins each Thursday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
