Springfield's Restituyo and Babson's Ouimette Named Final NEWMAC Weekly Award Winners

NEWMAC Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week

Gracie Restituyo, Springfield (Jr, Barrington, R.I.)

In her lone game this week, Restituyo, a junior forward for Springfield College, was dominant in the Pride's 73-63, come-from-behind victory over Wheaton on Saturday in its regular-season finale. Restituyo notched a career-best 31 points to go along with seven rebounds, one block and one steal. The junior shot 73.3% (11-15) from the field and was almost perfect at the charity stripe hitting nine of her 10 attempts. Restituyo's 31 points is the highest amount of points scored from a Springfield College women's basketball student-athlete since Donna Masterson scored 35 points during the 1997-98 season.

NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week

Payton Ouimette, Babson (Jr, Medfield, Mass.)
In her only game of the week, Ouimette recorded her 17th double-double of the season as Babson captured a share of its third consecutive NEWMAC regular season title by defeating MIT, 56-53. The junior forward grabbed nine of her 13 rebounds on the defensive end to go along a season-high four steals, 10 points and three assists.
