MIT Graduate Samia Mahjub Named NEWMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Playing an instrumental role in MIT's current four-game winning streak, Samia Mahjub helped propel the Engineers to a 2-0 performance last week as they improved to 6-4 on the year. In a 61-40 win over Caltech last Wednesday, she registered a game-high 16 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. Mahjub then posted a team-high 12 points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals in a 55-47 victory over Simmons on Friday. For the week, Mahjub averaged 14 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists, 1.5 steals, and a .458 field goal percentage.
