Coast Guard Senior Melissa Martinelli Named NEWMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

NEWMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week:

Melissa Martinelli, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, C, 2010 (Vero Beach, Fla.)

Martinelli had a huge week as the Bears snapped an eight-game losing streak with a win over rival Connecticut College. Martinelli averaged 27.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in a 1-2 week. In the win over Connecticut College, she had a season-high 32 points, 29 in the second half. She shot 57.4 percent from the floor (27-47) for the week and 78.4 percent from the line (29-37).
