NEWMAC Announces 2009 Women’s Rowing Post-Season Award Winners

BABSON PARK, Mass.-The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2009 Women's Rowing post-season award winners on Tuesday. Karen Klinger was named the NEWMAC Coach of the Year after guiding Smith College to a first-place finish at the NEWMAC Championship. The Pioneers also captured the Florence Jope Smith Cup.  The Florence Cup is awarded to the team that accumulates the most points in the four NEWMAC championship races. WPI received the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award, as voted by the conference's student-athletes.

The 2009 NEWMAC Women's Rowing All-Conference teams were announced at Saturday's Championship regatta.
