  • Wellesley and WPI Highlight NCAA Rowing National Championship

    SARASOTA, Fla - On Saturday afternoon the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) was proud to see two teams compete at the NCAA Division III Rowing National Championship. Wellesley finished as the National Runner Up while WPI followed closely behind to take bronze in the regatta.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The NCAA Division III Women’s Rowing Committee has selected the institutions that will compete in the 2018 NCAA Division III Women’s Rowing Championships. The NEWMAC is pleased to announce two institutions will represent the conference at the championship as Wellesley earned the automatic qualifier while WPI recieved an at-large into the regatta.

    WESTWOOD, Mass - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2018 Rowing Coach of the Year as well as the seven All-Sportsmanship Team honorees on Thursday morning. After leading the Blue to their eighth consecutive championship title, Head Coach Tessa Spillane has been voted as the 2018 Rowing Coach of the Year.

  • WPI's Varsity Eight Earns NEWMAC Rowing Boat of the Week

    The WPI varsity eight of Marlies de Jong (pictured), Melissa Bazakas-Chamberlain, Jasmine, Christine Hovermale, Sarah Wutka, Kinsey McNamara, Eva Barinelli, Diana Celaj and coxswain Madison Healey was the first Engineer crew to capture the Bernard Brown Cup since 2013.

    Wellesley's Varsity 8+ consisting of C- Sydney Stento; 8 - Emilia Ball (pictured); 7- Zoe Cheng; 6 - Frances Dingivan; 5 - Lauren Bazley; 4 - Rhiannon Mulligan; 3- Kelsey Campbell; 2 - Jocelyn Reahl; 1 - Katie Livingston posted the second fastest time of the day on Saturday.
  • Mount Holyoke's Varsity Eight Earns NEWMAC Boat of the Week

    In an event that featured four of the top-ranked teams in the nation, including #1 Bates and #5 Hamilton, the Lyons varsity eight boat powered its way to victory in the Petite Final. MHC's crew opened the day finishing third in its heat behind the Bobcats and Continentals.
  • NEWMAC Announces 2018 Rowing Preseason Coaches' Poll, WPI Tabbed Favorites

    WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference announced the results of the 2018 Rowing Preseason Coaches' Poll on Tuesday morning. 2017 NEWMAC Runner Up, WPI Engineers have been tabbed as the favorites garnering three first place votes. Voting for the preseason poll is conducted by the seven head rowing coaches.
