Babson Park, Mass.-Eight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) student-athletes were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region teams yesterday. NEWMAC regular season and tournament champions, Babson, led the way with five student-athletes selected to the First team in the Berkshire Region. NEWMAC Player of the Year Anita Martignetti (Winchester, Mass.) was joined by teammates Brianne Carlson (Wolfeboro, N.H.), Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.), Jackie Godfrey (Franklin, Mass.) and Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) on the First team All-Region. Springfield senior Rachel Lampros (Boxborough, Mass.) and Wellesley sophomores Haley Geller (Berkeley, Calif.) and Loretta White (Northampton, Mass.) were named to the Second team.

Martignetti, who led the NEWMAC with 71 points on 51 goals and 21 assists, makes her third appearance on the All-Region team. Godfrey, only a junior, has also earned three straight All-Region honors. All five Babson honorees were named to the NEWMAC First team All-Conference this season.

Geller, making her second appearance on the All-Region team, led the NEWMAC in goals with 55, as well as caused turnovers, with 41. White helped anchor a defense that gave up just over 10 goals per game, good for third best in the league. Lampros ranked among the league leaders in assists, with 24, and points per game, at 3.18. Geller, White and Lampros were all named to the First team All-Conference this season as well.
