Dolan, Rabesa Join Wheaton Women's Soccer Coaching Staff

NORTON, MA- The nationally-ranked Wheaton College women's soccer team has added a pair of new assistant coaches for the 2008 season, as Scott Dolan and Jenna Rabesa join the staff of the team ranked 12th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) preseason poll. Dolan returns for his third stint with the program, while Rabesa has been added to the staff following a standout four-year career with the Lyons.

Dolan helped lead Wheaton to NCAA tournaments in 2004 and 2006, including its first national semifinal in 2004, and is charged with coaching the goalkeepers. He has 14 years of experience coaching competitive soccer, including as head coach of the U18 Rhode Island Rays United Soccer Club girls' team from 2002-07 and a recent stint with Oliver Ames High School in North Easton. Earning a national diploma and regional goalkeeper diploma from the NSCAA and a license from the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), Dolan's coaching experience covers all levels of the game.

On the professional level, Dolan worked with the Rhode Island Rays of  the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). At the collegiate level, he was an assistant and goalkeeper coach at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in 2002, an assistant and goalkeeper coach at Stonehill College in 1998, 2000 and 2001, and a men's assistant with Massasoit Community College in 1994. While at Massasoit, the team placed fifth nationally and first in New England. Dolan also had coaching positions at the scholastic level, including being at the helm of two state tournament teams with Norton High from 1999-2000 and three state tournament squads with Mansfield High from 1995-97. While at Oliver Ames in 1998, 1999 and 2007, he served as the goalkeeper coach, helping the team win a state title each season.

Dolan attended Massasoit as a student-athlete in 1992, playing for a soccer program that finished third in the nation and first in the region. He earned an Associate of Science degree from Massasoit in spring 2008 and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in education from Northeastern University.

A 2008 Wheaton graduate and a two-time New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) all-league selection, Rabesa appeared primarily at forward and in the backfield during her career while compiling 107 points in 98 games. She is tied for sixth in program history in points while ranking fifth in assists (35) and seventh in goals (36).

Rabesa earned All-New England honors from both the NSCAA and D3Kicks.com during her senior year while being selected to compete in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl.

Rabesa graduated with a degree in history.
