Springfield's Quiles and Smith's Hall Claim NEWMAC Weekly Awards

Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week

Kim Quiles, Springfield (Senior, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)

Kim Quiles, a senior forward for Springfield College, had an incredible week for the Pride as she registered six points on three goals, leading the maroon and white to a pair of victories over non-conference opponents. In a 1-0 win over Western New England on Wednesday, Quiles had the game-deciding goal in the 37th minute, before coming back on Saturday and mounting a come-from-behind victory over Endicott with two goals to open the second half. The Pride is now off to its best start since 2007 and stands at 4-0 heading into this week.

Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week

Shelby Hall, Smith (Senior, West Springfield, Mass.)

In a 2-0 week with victories over Mass-Dartmouth and Maine Maritime, senior goalkeeper Shelby Hall posted consecutive shutouts in net. She made six stops in a 1-0 win over Mass-Dartmouth, including a PK save in the final 10 minutes of the game and followed that performance with a four save effort against Maine Maritime. Hall leads the NEWMAC in save percentage (.957) and is tied for first in goals against average (0.25). Her 11 career shutouts ranks fourth all-time in Smith soccer history.
