Babson Sophomore Sam Bartman Named NEWMAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

NEWMAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week:

Sam Bartman, Babson, B, SO (Upton, MA)

In addition to leading a Babson defense that surrendered just 10 shots in two games, Bartman also tallied the decisive penalty kick that sent the third-seeded Beavers past sixth-seeded Clark in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals. With Bartman playing every single minute, Babson shut out MIT, 1-0, while allowing only eight shots in the final game of the regular season on Tuesday. She then played the entire 110 minutes in a 1-1 tie with Clark in the quarterfinals on Saturday, as the Beavers' backfield allowed only two shots. After the game went to penalty kicks, the sophomore back converted Babson's final attempt to snap a 3-3 tie and send the Beavers on to the semifinal round at Wheaton.
