Springfield Looks To Defend Crown At 2007 NEWMAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships This Weekend At Wellesley

BABSON PARK, Mass.--  Springfield College will look to defend its title at the 2007 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships to be hosted at the Chandler Pool on the campus of Wellesley College this weekend.

The Pride posted a team score of 908 points in last year's event to outdistance runner-up M.I.T.'s team score of 687 points, as Wellesley was third overall with a team score of 541.5 points.

Competition officially begins on Friday, February 16th with swimming trials at 11:00 a.m. EST and continues through Sunday evening, February 18th.

Adult admission for this year's championship is $5.00 per session, $7.00 for a day pass and $16.00 for a weekend pass, with a portion of the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.  Student admission is $1.00 with a valid ID, and senior admission prices are $2.00 per session, $3.00 for a day pass and $8.00 for a weekend pass.
