Coast Guard Sophomore Kim Shadwick Named NEWMAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

NEWMAC Women's Swimmer of the Week:

Kim Shadwick, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, 2011 (Campbell Hall, N.Y.)

Kim, who has not lost a freestyle or backstroke event in dual meet action this season, set a school record in the 1,000 freestyle in a win over Clark on Saturday. The time of 10:43.25 is also the second-fastest time in the NEWMAC this season. She also won the 500 freestyle (5:20.08) and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team with a time of 1:43.40. In the Bears other meet this week, a loss to Conn. College, Shadwick won the 100 backstroke (1:02.34) and the 200 backstroke (2:12.99).
