NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week

Jen Schwarzkopf, Wellesley College, 2009 (Hinsdale, Ill.)

Schwarzkopf went 2-0 for Wellesley this week, leading the Blue to their fifth consecutive NEWMAC Championship. The senior opened the week with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win over Division-I URI's Tristany Leikem at number two singles. At the NEWMAC tournament, Schwarzkopf was leading Babson's Jess Huang 6-4, 4-2 before Wellesley picked up the 5-0 decision in the semifinals. In the title match, she won the deciding fifth point with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) victory over MIT's Anastasia Vishnevetsky.
