Babson Junior Heather Walsh named NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week

NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week:

Heather Walsh, Babson College, JR (Warwick, RI)

Walsh went 2-0 in the Beavers' two matches this week. She overpowered her opponent, 6-0, 6-0, at number three singles in a 7-2 Babson victory over Simmons on Friday. She then recorded the decisive point in a thrilling 5-4 win over NEWMAC foe Smith on Saturday. With the overall score tied at 4-4, Walsh lifted her team to the win by defeating Smith's Seiko Fujii, 6-2, 6-3, at number three. Walsh is now 4-0 at third singles this fall, helping lead Babson to an undefeated start to the season.
