MIT Sophomore Leslie Hansen named NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week

NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week:  

Leslie Hansen, MIT, SO, (Fairfax, VA)

Leslie posted a 4-1 ledger as she picked up a conference win and advanced to the semifinals of the ITA New England Championship. On Tuesday, she defeated Babson's Courtney Farrell, 6-2, 6-0, to remain perfect in NEWMAC play through three matches. In the ITA Tournament, Hansen, seeded No. 3, posted wins over Shivani Saxeni (Wellelsey, 6-2, 7-6 (6)), who captured the singles consolation title, Carlissa King (Amherst, 6-2, 6-4), and Nicole Pontee (Vassar, 6-4, 6-1), before falling to eventual champion No. 2 Cary Gibson (Williams, 6-1, 6-3).
