Smith Senior Catherine Hill-Lydecker Named NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week

NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week:  

Catherine Hill-Lydecker, Smith, SR (Conway, NH)

In singles competition, Catherine won both her matches this week defeating Andrea Nathan (Clark) 6-0,6-0 and Ellen Van Faasen of Wheaton 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). In the Wheaton match, Ellen's left-handed power forehand forced Catherine to strategize finding ways to attack the backhand side.  Catherine's exceptional anticipation coupled with her defensive "saves" allowed her to outlast her opponent and claim the victory.
