MIT Sophomore Leslie Hansen Named NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week

NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week:

Leslie Hansen, MIT, SO (Fairfax, VA)

Leslie posted a 3-1 ledger as she fell in the finals of the No. 1 singles flight at the NEWITT Division III Championship this past weekend. Following a first-round bye, No. 3 seeded Hansen defeated Claire Smyser (Middlebury), 6-2, 6-4. She then outlasted Rachel Rosman (Brandeis), 6-1, 7-6 (6) and edged out Grace Cascarilla (Tufts), 6-3, 6-4. In the final, Hansen fell to No. 4 Kristen Raymond (Bowdoin), 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.
