MIT Freshman Nicole Bucala named NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
NEWMAC Women's Runner of the Week:
Nicole Bucala, FR, MIT
Nicole Bucala helped MIT capture the Smith College Invitational by winning the 5000-meter race in a time of 19:46.78, edging out teammate Maria Monks by .02 seconds. The impressive debut by the freshman Bucala helped MIT capture the annual Engineer's Cup between MIT, WPI and RPI, as well as make a statement to the seven other NEWMAC competitors involved in the meet.
